If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Carlsbad. On Friday they will take on Vista at 7:00 PM. Carlsbad don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Carlsbad strolled past La Costa Canyon with points to spare last Friday, taking the contest 24-7. Senior Keoni Quintana was the offensive standout of the match for Carlsbad, as he passed for 261 yards and 4 touchdowns. That makes it eight straight good games in a row from Quintana.
Meanwhile, Vista didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 31-36 to Rancho Bernardo.
Everything went Carlsbad's way against Vista the last time the two teams met as they made off with a 42-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carlsbad since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
