Cornerstone Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the ARC Academy Warriors by a score of 37-30. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups in a row dating back to last season.

Cornerstone Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Ryston McNaughton, who went 7-for-14 en route to 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave McNaughton a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Brendan Newton, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for ARC Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coincidentally, Cornerstone Christian Academy and ARC Academy will both be playing Mount Olive Christian the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face Mount Olive Christian at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 12:10 p.m. on Friday.
