The Vacaville Christian Falcons will face off against the Elliot Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Vacaville Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Esparto an 11-0 shutout. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Hailey Hulsey made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Daisy Stafford was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Danielle Ruff was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Elliot Christian made easy work of Valley Christian on Wednesday and carried off a 15-5 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.
Like Vacaville Christian, Elliot Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Juliet Goodpasture. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Goodpasture was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kelsey Gretsinger, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Patterson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Vacaville Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Elliot Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Vacaville Christian came up short against Elliot Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 5-2. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
