The Miramonte Matadors will head out to face off against the Berean Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miramonte's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Berean Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Miramonte fell victim to Northgate and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. The loss continues a trend for the Matadors in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost four in a row.

Miramonte saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Yung, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Yung has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Berean Christian put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They put the hurt on Mt. Diablo with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Luke Upshaw made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Berean Christian got a massive performance out of Josh Werner, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Werner has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Max McTighe, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Berean Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Diablo only managed three hits.
Berean Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Miramonte, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Miramonte has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Berean Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Miramonte's way against Berean Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Miramonte made off with a 13-2 victory. Will the Matadors repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
