The Rocklin Thunder will head out to face off against the Whitney Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Rocklin's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Elk Grove. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Thundering Herd recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Payton Prior made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Prior was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carissa Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Addie Titlow was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Whitney took on Roseville on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-0 win.
Taylor Cordell looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025.
On the hitting side, Sidney Kleiner was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rebecca Rau, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Whitney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roseville only posted an OBP of .059.
Rocklin's record now sits at 2-0. As for Whitney, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Rocklin couldn't quite finish off Whitney when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Thunder avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
