It was a good run, but the Landmark Christian War Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 70-62 to Callaway. The matchup was a 30-30 toss-up at halftime, but Landmark Christian was outscored by Callaway in the second.
When it comes to explaining why Landmark Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joshua Harris. Despite the final result, he scored 35 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. Blake Pollock was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Callaway had a senior duo take command as Tyrus Edwards scored 20 points along with two steals and DeShun Coleman scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Natorrius Truitt, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Landmark Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Callaway, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Landmark Christian will face off against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Callaway will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Elite Scholars Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th.
