When it comes to explaining why South Aiken lost, one person who can't be blamed is Javarse Houston. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Houston also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Kelton Walker, who scored six points.
South Aiken has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for J.L. Mann, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Aiken's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. North Augusta presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Aiken in South Carolina (North Augusta is ranked 11th, while South Aiken is ranked 238th). As for J.L. Mann, they will head out on the road to face off against Boiling Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Boiling Springs is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
