Cypress Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Paetow Panthers. Ariel Arambula was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Arambula was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
Arambula wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Priscilla Garza, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Garza also got a hit, marking her first of the season.
Even though they lost, Cypress Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paetow struck out six times.
Cypress Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Paetow, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
