The Powell County Wardens's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 44-23 defeat at the hands of Drummond. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Powell County has scored all season.
Drummond found their leader in underclassman Kimber Parsons, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parsons has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Nelson, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Powell County dropped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Drummond, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powell County will take on Florence-Carlton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Drummond, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Valley Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. Valley Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Montana Rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Drummond is ranked 46th).
