Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Skates Past Excel with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hillcrest). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 73-46 win over the Excel Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Jaguars have posted since February 16th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hillcrest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jontavuis Lett, who went 8 of 14 en route to 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Lett is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of J.T. Barlow, who went 10 of 17 en route to 21 points and three steals.

Hillcrest's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Excel, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Hillcrest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-52 victory against Straughn on the 12th. Excel will take on Leroy in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at.
