The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Northwest (3-5) takes on South (3-5) in the first playoff game of the year. Northwest continues its travels as it hits the road for the 2nd straight game.
Northwest wasn't able to get on the board against Olathe North last game. The team fell 21 - 0. It was anyone's game at the half (7 - 0), but Northwest just couldn't get it going in the second half.
As for South, it brought the heat last game after its low-scoring effort (six points) in the match before. It scooted by West two weeks ago with a score of 33 - 14. Sophomore Tony Friends was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he earned four touchdowns and 200 yards rushing the ball).
The last time they met, Northwest was the 34 - 0 victor. It was able to move the ball a lot more (314 yards compared to 24 yards), a gap South will be looking to close this time around. Can Northwest repeat its success? We'll find out this Friday.
