Football Recap: Grapeland Piles Up the Points Against Cushing

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grapeland). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Cushing Bearkats 53-26. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-12.

Grapeland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points over those games. As for Cushing, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Coincidentally, Grapeland and Cushing will both be playing Tenaha the next time they take the field. The Bearkats will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Sandies will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
