The Robinson Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Steinbrenner Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robinson's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Steinbrenner's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Robinson gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Freedom. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven runs or more this season.
Santiago Rojas looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Collin Rosenberg was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cason Cooper, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Robinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freedom only posted an OBP of .381.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Steinbrenner was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They fell just short of Bloomingdale by a score of 2-1.
Steinbrenner saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Liss, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was Liss' first of the season.
Robinson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. Steinbrenner's loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Robinson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Steinbrenner struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Robinson came up short against Steinbrenner in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 5-0. Can Robinson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
