The Anaheim Colonists's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 69-52 bruising from Ocean View. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Anaheim in their matchups with Ocean View: they've now lost five in a row.
Leading Ocean View to victory were Blake Girotti and Brayden Ackerman. Girotti dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Ackerman scored 24 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Girotti pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Phan, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Anaheim's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Ocean View, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Anaheim will head out on the road to face off against Whittier Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ocean View won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Huntington Beach at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Huntington Beach knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Ocean View likes a good challenge.
