The Holy Family Tigers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Centaurus at home to the tune of 62-25. Holy Family has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 31 points or more this season.
Holy Family got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gracie Ward out in front who scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Hodell, who scored eight points along with nine steals.
When it comes to explaining why Centaurus lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ingrid Lorton. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Centaurus struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Holy Family pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.4 points. As for Centaurus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Holy Family will be playing at home against Longmont at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Longmont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday. As for Centaurus, they will head out on the road to face off against Mead at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mead has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
