Football Recap: Hayward Piles Up the Points Against Irvington

Hayward entered their tilt with Irvington on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They breezed past the Vikings to the tune of 53-8. The result was nothing new for the Farmers, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Hayward got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaydyn Irving out in front who threw for 205 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. What's more, Irving racked up 158.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Maurice Hall helped Irving out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and one score, while also picking up 35 receiving yards.

Hayward was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Hayward's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Irvington, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

Hayward wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 67-22 victory against Washington on the 7th. As for Irvington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 33-0 win against Kennedy on the 7th.
