The Hot Springs Bison had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan, posting a 55-7 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Hot Springs, who have now won seven matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Camron Maciejewski continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 214 yards and five touchdowns on only ten carries. Maciejewski's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Braden Peterson, who gained 108 total yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan to a paltry 183 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Hot Springs' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Caleb Rickenbach and his two sacks.
Hot Springs' victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 49 points. As for Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Hot Springs will head out on the road to face off against Sioux Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Sioux Valley's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six contests. Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
