Roncalli is a perfect 10-0 against Guerin Catholic since November of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Royals will take on the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Roncalli will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 23 points last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Whiteland on Tuesday. The Royals claimed a resounding 62-26 win over the Warriors. The game marked the Royals' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Roncalli's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Elliot Leffler, who went 7-for-14 on her way to 18 points and six assists, and Brennah Cerny, who shot 55% from the field en route to 17 points. Those six assists gave Leffler a new career-high. Lucy Hammerschmitt also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Roncalli was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whiteland only racked up six.
Meanwhile, Guerin Catholic made easy work of Indianapolis Shortridge on Tuesday and carried off a 62-37 win. With that victory, the Golden Eagles brought their scoring average up to 50.7 points per game.
Guerin Catholic's win came from a few key players Roncalli will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cecilia Titus, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 12 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 46.9% shooting accuracy. Caroline Ford was another key player, shooting 42% from the field en route to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
The win made it two in a row for Guerin Catholic and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Roncalli, their record is now 6-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Roncalli has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31 boards per game. However, it's not like Guerin Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Roncalli took their win against Guerin Catholic in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 61-40 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
