On Friday Gilmer County will take on Valley at 7:30 PM. Gilmer County are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
After having lost a blowout in their game two weeks ago against Doddridge County, Gilmer County were happy to find some success last Friday. Gilmer County were able to grind out a solid victory over Calhoun last Friday, winning 21-12.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Valley, and their match last Friday only extended their streak of losses to eight. They lost to Buffalo by a decisive 13-33 margin. Valley were down by 6-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Gilmer County's win lifted them to 3-4 while Valley's defeat dropped them down to 0-8. We'll see if Gilmer County's success rolls on or if Valley are able to steal their positive momentum.
