The Granbury Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Birdville Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Granbury is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
Granbury barely beat Saginaw the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Granbury put the hurt on Saginaw with a sharp 7-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Levi Martinez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brazos Cornelison, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Kyler Crites also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Granbury hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saginaw struck out 12 times.
Meanwhile, Birdville came up short against Fossil Ridge on Saturday and fell 9-6. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sam Mallette made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Manny Gonzales was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Granbury pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Birdville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Birdville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Granbury has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Birdville, though, as they've only averaged .352. Will they be able to contain Granbury's hitters?
Granbury came out on top in a nail-biter against Birdville in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Does Granbury have another victory up their sleeve, or will Birdville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
