After two weeks on the road, Bolton is heading back home. On Friday they will take on Avoyelles at 7:00 PM. Bolton come in off of three low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the team is obviously eager to reverse.
Things haven't been easy for Bolton, and their match last Saturday only extended their streak of losses to three. They took a serious blow against Peabody, falling 6-50. Despite the loss, Bolton saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Jadarius Welch rushed for 136 yards and 1 touchdown. If you haven't heard Welch's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past seven games.
Meanwhile, Avoyelles entered their game against Caldwell Parish without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. Avoyelles have to be aching after a bruising 6-33 defeat to Caldwell Parish. The state rankings had actually given Avoyelles a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
