The Francis Parker Lancers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Joseph Academy 75-42 on the road. That looming 75-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Francis Parker yet this season.
It was another big night for Brieana Brown, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gigi Ong, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and three steals.
St. Joseph Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luciana Aguilar, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Pamela Torres, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Francis Parker's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Francis Parker will be playing at home against La Costa Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. La Costa Canyon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Francis Parker is ranked 113th). St. Joseph Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Valhalla at 10:30 a.m. on January 13th. Valhalla is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
