The Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Pueblo Central at home by a decisive 59-41 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pueblo Centennial has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Pueblo Centennial saw an underclassman step up: Landen Lenn scored 14 points.
Pueblo Centennial struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Xavier Davis was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with four steals for Pueblo Central. Another player making a difference was Tayvon Evans, who scored eight points along with six steals.
Pueblo Centennial has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Pueblo Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo Centennial will face off against Pueblo East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pueblo Central, they will head out on the road to take on Pueblo South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Pueblo South is ranked 97th, while Pueblo Central is ranked 100th).
