Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gila Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Soliz, who threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Soliz has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. A healthy portion of Soliz's aerial production (114 yards to be exact) went to Kanai Hongo, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Mary's). They blew past Mesquite 49-28 last Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
St. Mary's win came from a few key players Gila Ridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Anthony Cannon, who picked up 200 receiving yards and three scores. His longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards. Luke Horn was another key passer, throwing for 318 yards and four TDs.
