Softball Recap: Washington Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Washington's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Mundy's Mill Tigers by a score of 12-8. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

The team relied heavily on Zamiya Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maukayla Bell, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Washington has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Mundy's Mill, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will welcome Arabia Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mundy's Mill, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Carver at 5:30 p.m.
