The Stanton Buffaloes's 11-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alpine on Tuesday. Stanton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Novah Carrasco was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for Alpine. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Carrasco has scored at least 25% of Alpine's points. Hope Dominguez was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds.
Stanton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Alpine, they pushed their record up to 5-14 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Stanton will take on Presidio at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alpine, they will head out on the road to face off against Tornillo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tornillo has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 3.
