The crowd at Friday's league battle between the Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM) and the host Gadsden Panthers (Anthony, NM), saw Mayfield's baseball team gain a win over Gadsden by a tally of 6-1.

The Trojans (16-6) will now prepare for their battle against Organ Mountain (Las Cruces, NM). The Knights enter the 5A District 3 battle with a 15-8 record. In their last battle, Organ Mountain was overwhelmed by Centennial (Las Cruces, NM), 4-2, in a league battle.

Next, the Panthers face the Alamogordo Tigers (Alamogordo, NM) in a 5A District 3 battle, on Tuesday, April 28. Gadsden will attempt to upgrade on its 7-16 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 6-17 record after their 5-2 league loss to Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM).
