The Miyamura Patriots edged the visiting Gallup Bengals softball squad by a count of 10-9 in Friday's league challenge.

Next, the Patriots meet the Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) in a 4A District 1 challenge, on Tuesday, April 28. Miyamura will attempt to upgrade on its 10-14 season record. The Chieftains enter the challenge with a 8-15 record after their 20-1 non-league loss to Bernalillo (Bernalillo, NM).

The Bengals (11-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Aztec (Aztec, NM). The Tigers enter the 4A District 1 challenge with a 16-4 record.
