The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Shade Panthers (Cairnbrook, PA) and the host Ferndale Yellow Jackets (Johnstown, PA), observed Shade's basketball team overwhelm Ferndale by a score of 48-21.

The Panthers (8-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Conemaugh Township (Davidsville, PA). The Indians come into the non-league challenge with a 5-13 record. In their last challenge, Conemaugh Township was routed by Portage (Portage, PA), 60-31, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Yellow Jackets encounter the Blacklick Valley Vikings (Nanty Glo, PA) in a Western Pennsylvania challenge, on Tuesday, February 3. Ferndale will attempt to improve on its 1-18 season record.
