The Athens Wildcats football squad scored 56 points and limited the visiting Canton Warriors to 22 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.

The Wildcats now sport a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Troy for a PIAA District IV outing on Friday, September 12. Athens will clash with a Trojans squad coming off a 42-13 non-league win over South Williamsport (South Williamsport, PA). The Trojans record now stands at 2-1.

With the defeat, Canton drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Warriors host North Penn-Mansfield (Mansfield, PA) to clash with the Tigers in a Northern Tier - Large outing on Saturday, September 13. The Tigers come into the outing with a record of 3-0. North Penn-Mansfield won 24-17 in their recent league outing against Towanda (Towanda, PA)
