The crowd at Monday's non-league battle between the Martin Tigers (Laredo, TX) and the visiting Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX), saw Martin's baseball team beat Zapata by a margin of 10-7.

The Tigers (9-12) will now prepare for their battle against Gregory-Portland (Portland, TX). The Wildcats enter the non-league battle with a 18-9 record. In their last battle, Gregory-Portland held off Carroll (Corpus Christi, TX), 10-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Hawks face the Robstown Cottonpickers (Robstown, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 31 bout, on Friday, April 17. Zapata will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Cottonpickers enter the bout with a 8-15 record after their 5-2 league win over King (Kingsville, TX).
