In Monday's non-league contest, the host McMullen County Cowboys basketball team scored a close 41-35 triumph over the Falls City Beavers.

With the victory, McMullen County advances its record to 16-4 on the year. The Cowboys host Banquete (Banquete, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Monday, December 29. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 9-6.

The Beavers now own a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Charlotte for a 2A Region IV District 30 contest on Friday, January 2.
