Evans put on a scoring clinic in the thrilling victory, including 21 consecutive points for the Vikings during a third-quarter stretch that helped extend North Mecklenburg's lead to 56-36 at the end of the third quarter.
The scoring flurry began with a four-point play as Evans was fouled when banking home a 3-pointer from the top of the key. He followed that up with a blocked shot on the other end that led to his transition layup after a euro-step through two defenders.
Evans continued his barrage with a deep trey from the right wing to extend the Vikings lead to 42-30. Evans hit on back-to-back 3-pointers on the next two possessions.

He followed that up with a tough fade-away shot from a step inside three-point range before converting a tough layup to extend the margin to 52-36.

Although Myers Park scored the first six points in the fourth quarter and cut the deficit to as low as 63-50 with 2:30 remaining, they were unable to fully overcome the lopsided lead.

North Mecklenburg (28-3) advance to the state semifinals where they will face Lake Norman (Mooresville) on Thursday.
