JD Rutherford has been named player of the year. "JD was a leader on the defense for SSC and by the end of the season he was also playing offense, as well. On the defensive side, JD tallied 112 total tackles with 12 tackles for loss, two sacks, four interceptions ( 60yds), four passes defended, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and a blocked field goal. On offense, he had seven carries for 50 yards along with two receptions for 18 yards and a touchdown. As a returner, JD had 11 kickoff returns for 228 yards and six punt returns for 83 yards. JD ended his high school career as a member of the South squad in the 69th annual Bernard Blackwell All-Star Classic. He tallied three tackles in the all-star game."
