California High School Baseball - Lompoc gets by Santa Ynez
April 24, 2012: Lompoc, CA 93436 Lompoc Braves (Lompoc, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Santa Ynez Pirates (Santa Ynez, CA), 4-2 in a league test.
With the win, Lompoc upgrades its record to 14-6 on the season. The Braves travel to Santa Maria (Santa Maria, CA) to battle the Saints in a Los Padres test on Friday, April 27. The Saints come into the test with a record of 3-16. Santa Maria lost 5-0 in their recent league test against Nipomo (Nipomo, CA)
With the defeat, Santa Ynez falls to 16-5 on the campaign. The Pirates host Cabrillo (Lompoc, CA) to play the Conquistadores in a Los Padres battle on Friday, April 27. The Conquistadores enter the battle with a record of 11-13. Cabrillo lost 3-1 in their recent non-league battle against Righetti (Santa Maria, CA)
Game Summary
The Santa Ynez Pirates were defeated by the Lompoc Braves by a score of 4-2. Both pitchers, Thomas Rowan from Santa Ynez and Lucas Martin from Lompoc turned in very strong pitching performances. The Pirates did a good job of putting the ball in play but the Lompoc defense played very well and did not commit any errors. Santa Ynez managed only 3 hits-two by Rowan and one by Brooks Fillipin. Rowan had both of the Pirates RBI's.
