The Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) basketball crushed the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), 80-46 in Thursday's league test.

The Patriots (15-5) will now prepare for their test against Garinger (Charlotte, NC). The Wildcats go into the Southwestern 4A test with a 8-8 record.

The Pirates now own a 2-16 record. They play next when they host Garinger for a Southwestern 4A test on Friday, January 29. Porter Ridge will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 80-73 league loss to Butler (Matthews, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-8.
