Florida High School Volleyball - Florida School for the Deaf crushed by Hilliard
September 23, 2008: St. Augustine, FL 32084 The Hilliard Red Flashes topped the host Florida School for the Deaf Dragons volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Tuesday's league test.
The Red Flashes now have a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Joseph for a 2A District 6 test on Thursday, September 25. Hilliard will confront a Flashes team coming off a 3-0 league win over Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville, FL). The Flashes record now stands at 8-1.
The Dragons (2-6) will now prepare for their test against University Christian (Jacksonville, FL). The Christians enter the 2A District 6 test with a 0-9 record.

Varsity started off on fire and then shut down just as quickly. They had a ten point the lead the first game, but couldn’t hold onto it and lost 20-25. They never recovered after that first game and lost the second and third game 17-25 and 9-25.
Marina Mercado played great tonight. She was all over the floor and doing whatever she could to help her team lead. She served for 10 points with 2 aces and had 4 Dragon Plays, 16 digs, 6 assists, and 1 kill. Robin Spigner served for 8 points with 1 ace and had 1 Dragon Play and 6 digs. Lakeisha McNair had 2 blocks, 3 Dragon Plays, 1 dig, and 10 kills. Valerie Boyette had 10 digs.
Our next game will at University Christian (in Jax) on Thursday, September 25. JV will play at 5:30 and Varsity at 6:30. Please come out to support our girls!
