The Anson Bearcats football team (Wadesboro, NC), was knocked off 31-6 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC)

The Pirates (10-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Spartans come into the 4A/3A Southern Carolina challenge with a 9-1 record. In their last challenge, Sun Valley knocked off Weddington (Matthews, NC), 41-32, in a league challenge.

The Bearcats now sport a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Parkwood for a 4A/3A Southern Carolina challenge on Friday, November 5. Anson will meet a Rebels team coming off a 62-8 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Rebels record now stands at 1-9.
