Corning Cardinals (Corning, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Yreka Miners (Yreka, CA), 68-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Corning upgrades its record to 19-5 on the season. The Cardinals host Central Valley (Shasta Lake, CA) to play the Falcons in a Northern bout on Tuesday, February 16. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 14-8. Central Valley won 46-33 in their recent league bout against Anderson (Anderson, CA)

Next up, the Miners play the West Valley Eagles (Cottonwood, CA) in a Northern bout, on Tuesday, February 16. Yreka will attempt to move on its 5-18 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 12-12 record after their 61-48 league win over Lassen (Susanville, CA).
