California High School Basketball - Champion Christian knocked off by Providence
February 1, 2013: Chico, CA 95926 The Providence Lions basketball team scored 57 points and held the host Champion Christian Mustangs to 40 in the Lions league triumph on Friday.
The Lions now sport a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Elk Creek for a Pioneer - Valley contest on Tuesday, February 5. Providence will meet a Elks team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Princeton (Princeton, CA). The Elks record now stands at 0-12.
The Mustangs (0-14) will now prepare for their contest against Paradise Adventist Academy (Paradise, CA). The Cougars enter the Pioneer - Valley contest with a 14-6 record. In their last contest, Paradise Adventist Academy ran past Elk Creek (Elk Creek, CA), 2-0, in a league contest.
