The Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (Denison, IA) basketball nipped the visiting Carroll Tigers (Carroll, IA), 74-69 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Monarchs (3-1) will now prepare for their test against Harlan (Harlan, IA). The Cyclones go into the Hawkeye Ten test with a 1-1 record. In their last test, Harlan was tipped by Blair (Blair, NE), 54-49, in a non-league test.
