Game Summary
The lights were a little too bright for Sequoia on Wednesday afternoon who committed a pair of costly errors in the first inning opening the run for 5 Serra runs on just a single hit. The WCAL tri-champ Padres added another run in the third and five more in the bottom of the fourth to salt away the 11-0 mercy rule win over the visiting Cherokees. Matt Gorgolinski tossed five innings of no-hit ball to earn the win and Designated Hitter Neil Sterling was 3 X 3 with 2 HR's and 7 RBI to propel Serra into the second round against Homestead. Kyle Cambron battled a tight strike zone and spotty defense behind him through 3 2/3 innings and was saddled with the loss. The defeat ends Sequoia's season at 16-11-1, good enough for a bid to the PAL's top Bay division for the Spring of 2014.
