McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC), 6-4 in a non-league test.

With the win, McMichael upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Phoenix travel to Rockingham County (Wentworth, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Mid-State 3A test on Thursday, March 3. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 1-0. Rockingham County won 5-1 in their recent league test against Northeast Guilford (McLeansville, NC)

With the defeat, North Stokes falls to 0-1 on the season. The Vikings host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to battle the Trojans in a non-league test on Thursday, March 3. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 1-0. Alleghany won 11-2 in their recent non-league test against Atkins (Winston-Salem, NC)
