In Friday's non-league game, the Boyd Broncos (McKinney, TX) football team knocked off the visiting McKinney Lions (McKinney, TX), by a final score of 78-51.

The Broncos (3-1) will now prepare for their game against Wylie (Wylie, TX). The Pirates come into the 5A Region I District 8 game with a 2-2 record. In their last game, Wylie toppled Rowlett (Rowlett, TX), 34-17, in a non-league game.

The Lions now hold a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they host Wakeland for a 4A Region II District 9 game on Friday, September 25. McKinney will battle a Wolverines team coming off a 56-20 non-league win over Brewer (White Settlement, TX). The Wolverines record now stands at 3-0.
