Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Columbus Cardinals (Columbus, TX) and the host Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls (Anderson, TX), saw Columbus's basketball squad overcome Anderson-Shiro by a tally of 41-31.

With the victory, Columbus improves its record to 15-8 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Calhoun (Port Lavaca, TX) to confront the Sandcrabs in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 30. The Sandcrabs come into the challenge with a record of 14-8.

Next up, the Fighting Owls confront the New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX) in a 3A Region III District 21 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3.
