April 18, 2015: Kings Mountain, NC 28086 The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Kings Mountain Mountaineers (Kings Mountain, NC) and the visiting South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC), observed Kings Mountain's softball team edge South Point by a score of 6-1.
Coming up next, the Mountaineers clash with the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) in a 2A/3A South Mountain Athletic test, on Tuesday, April 21. Kings Mountain will attempt to improve on its 11-1 season record. The Wildcats come into the test with a 3-11 record after their 4-0 league loss to Chase (Forest City, NC).
The Red Raiders (8-5) will now prepare for their test against Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Green Wave come into the 2A/3A Big South test with a 0-12 record. In their last test, Ashbrook was routed by North Gaston (Dallas, NC), 9-0, in a league test.
