The Hood River Valley Eagles basketball team scored 41 points and held the host St. Helens Lions to 40 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Eagles now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Corbett for a non-league contest on Friday, January 12.

The Lions (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, OR). The Spartans enter the 5A Northwest Oregon contest with a 4-8 record. In their last contest, Hillsboro was nudged by West Albany (Albany, OR), 72-66, in a non-league contest.
