The Vale Vikings (Vale, OR) basketball nipped the visiting Melba Mustangs (Melba, ID), 42-37 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Vikings (1-4) will now prepare for their test against Payette (Payette, ID). The Pirates go into the non-league test with a 5-1 record. In their last test, Payette was tipped by Cole Valley Christian (Meridian, ID), 62-50, in a non-league test.

The Mustangs now own a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to Liberty Charter for a non-league test on Friday, December 15. Melba will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 50-43 non-league win over Tri-Valley (Cambridge, ID). The Patriots record now stands at 3-0.
