California High School Softball - Royal bounces Newbury Park
April 5, 2011: Newbury Park, CA 91320 The Royal Highlanders routed the host Newbury Park Panthers softball squad by a count of 17-3 in Tuesday's league battle.
The Highlanders (8-2) will now prepare for their battle against Agoura (Agoura, CA). The Chargers go into the Marmonte battle with a 5-5 record. In their last battle, Agoura was routed by Simi Valley (Simi Valley, CA), 5-3, in a league battle.
The Panthers now sport a 2-10 record. They play next when they host Westlake for a Marmonte battle on Thursday, April 7. Newbury Park will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 6-3 league win over Calabasas (Calabasas, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 3-12.
Game Summary
Nancy Bowling increased her record to 6-1 striking out 5 of the 6 batters she faced and also went 2 for 2 with a triple and 3 RBI's at the plate. Ali Mosier went 2 for 2 with 2 triples, scored 2 runs and drove in 2 runs. Katelyn Tollefson was 3 for 3 and scored 3 runs, stole 2 bases and drove in a run. Samamtha Ohmie was 2 for 3 wiht 3 RBI's. Kelyn Fillmore had a double and scored a run.
