The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC), 50-35 in Friday's league test.

The Golden Lions (6-1) will now prepare for their test against Rutherfordton-Spindale Central (Rutherfordton, NC). The Hilltoppers go into the test with a 2-8 record. In their last test, Rutherfordton-Spindale Central went down by Burns (Lawndale, NC), 46-39, in a league test.

The Chargers now own a 5-6 record. They play next when they travel to Draughn for a test on Friday, January 15. Crest will encounter a Wildcats team coming off a 61-34 league loss to Shelby (Shelby, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-4.
